  • Temple Tour of Southern India Day 01 : Arrival Chennai
    Temple Tour of Southern India is initiated with your arrival at the Chennai airport where our tour representative will be awaiting you. He will transfer you to the hotel where you will be spending the night.

    Day 02 : Chennai
    The second morning of the Temple Tour of Southern India is dedicated to the sightseeing tour. Chennai is popularly referred to as the 'Gateway to the South’. Among the popular tourist draws of Chennai are included Kalakshetra, Fort St. George that at present houses the Secretariat and Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu, the St. Mary's Church, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Kapaliswara Temple, Mylapore, San Thomas Cathedral Basilica and the Theosophical Society. You will be able to spend the afternoon at your own leisure. The night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Day 03 : Chennai - Mahabalipuram
    The third day of the Temple Tour of Southern India package will find you heading to Kanchipuram by car. Kanchipuram, located at a distance of 70 kms to the west of Mahabalipuram. Regarded as one of the seven revered cities of Hindus, it has served as the Chola capital in the 2nd century BC. Kanchi enjoys the distinction of being one of the major seats of Tamil learning apart from being an important place of pilgrimage for the Buddhists, Jains and the Hindus. Besides the presence of the temples, the city is also famous for its silk weavers, who settled at this place about four centuries back. We will then be heading on to

    Mahabalipuram. On your arrival, you are required to check into hotel. You will need to spend the night at the hotel.

    Today enjoy city tour of Mahabalipuram.
    Mahabalipuram, driving south of Madras on the coast lies Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram), the ancient port of Pallavas. The pallavas have created many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam, has a big bas relief, notable for its realistic representation. The world's largest bas relief measuring 27m x 9m, whale back shaped rock contains figures of gods, demi-gods, men .beasts, birds and representation of the entire creation. Shore Temple, one of the oldest in south dating back to 8th century AD is a good example of the first phase of structural temples constructed in Dravidian style. The Five Rathas, a group of five monolithic temples, each created in different style. Overnight at the hotel in Mahabalipuram

    Day 05 : Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
    On the fifth day of the Tour of the Southern Indian temples, you will find yourself advancing towards Pondicherry by car. Upon arrival, you need to check into the hotel. You have the rest of the day to yourself while the night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Day 06 : Pondicherry
    The sixth day of the Temple Tour of Southern India, is devoted to the sightseeing of Pondicherry. Among the popular tourist draws of Pondicherry are included the Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The founding father of the ashram was Sri Aurobindo whose demise saw the spiritual baton passing on to Mother, one of his disciples. The Mother play a key role in founding the city of Dawn Auroville, located at a distance of 10 km from Pondicherry. The city sightseeing is wrapped up by an overnight stay at hotel.

    Day 07 : Pondicherry - Thanjavur
    Day seven finds you driving to Tanjore. On the way, you will be visiting Chidambram. Chidambaram, is the seat of the Cosmic Dancer that was dedicated to Lord Nataraja. Sprawling over a land area of 40 acres and flanked with gopurams, the temple is distinguished by the five sabhas or counts. On your arrival in Tanjore, you need to check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, you will be hitting the road on an exploratory tour of Tanjore. Tanjore also referred to as Thanjavur is renowned for the presence of the Brahadeeswarar Temple. Among the other popular tourist highlights are also included the Art Gallery and the Saraswathi Mahal Library. The night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Day 08 : Thanjavur - Trichy
    On day eight, you will be driven to Trichy. On arrival, you are required to check in at the hotel where you will be spending the night.

    Day 09 : Trichy
    The day is dedicated to the sightseeing tour of Trichy. Srirangam is a popular place of interest that is located at a distance of 5 kms from Trichy. The imposing Sri Ranganathaswami temple is bound to command your veneration. Another popular attraction is the Rock Fort located on the banks of the Kaveri River. The night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Temple Tour of Southern IndiaDay 10 : Trichy - Madurai
    On the tenth day, you will be driving to Madurai. Upon arrival, you will be checking into hotel. You will have the rest of the day to yourself. Overnight stay is scheduled at the hotel.

    Day 11 : Madurai
    The first phase of the day is dedicated to morning sightseeing tour of Madurai also referred to as the Athens of the East. The city located on the banks of the River Vigai is believed to be 2500 years old. You just can’t skip a visit to the magnificent Meenakshi-Sundareswara Temple. The temple features 12 gopurams. The southern gopuram is a brilliant architectural feat with over 1500 sculptures. The afternoon is spent at leisure. In the evening, you will be a part of the Prayer Ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple. The night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Day 12 : Madurai - Rameshwaram - Madurai
    On day twelve of the Temple Tour of Southern India, you will be embarking on an excursion to the Rameshwaram temple. At the end of the temple tour, you will be returning back to the hotel for nightstay.

    Day 13 : Madurai - Chennai
    On the penultimate day of the tour, you will be transferred to the railway station to board the bound for Chennai. On your arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. The night is to be spent at the hotel.

    Day 14 : Chennai departure
    The tour comes to an end on the fourteenth day. You will be transferred to the airport to board the flight back home.
