 Nestled amidst the Satpura ranges on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, sharing grounds with the neighboring state of Maharashtra, the Pench National Park, Maharashtra was sanctioned as a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1983 and as the 19th Project Tiger Reserve in 1992. Considered by many wildlife lovers as one of the best wildlife destinations in India, the national park is crisscrossed by a number of seasonal streams. Named after the Pench River that flows from north to south through the reserve, Pench National Park is home to a major portion of Wildlife in India, and deserves more than just one visit.

Southern tropical dry deciduous teak and southern tropical mixed deciduous forest with other species of shrubs, trees and climbers form the vegetative habitat of the Pench National Park, Maharashtra. Teak and its associates mahua, moyan, khair, skiras, tendu, bija, achar, mokha, aonla, garari, ghont, amaltas, baranga, kihamali, palas and occasional bushes of bamboos are found here.
Fauna:
Among the 39 species of mammals, 3 species of amphibians, 13 species of reptiles and over 210 different breeds of birds form the animal habitat of the Pench National Park.
