Balpakram National Park Meghalaya
Kaziranga National Park – Located partly in the Golaghat District and partly in Nagaon District of Assam, the park, along the Brahmaputra River, was acknowledged as a national park in 1974. The one horned rhino is the prime resident of the park.
Sundarban National Park – With mangrove forests spread around the sprawling1330.10 sq km of the reserve, the park, set in the Piyali region in Eastern belt of India, is a famous abode of the Royal Bengal Tiger and Ridley Sea Turtle.
Namdhapa National Park – Located at 62 Kms. from Margherita, 163 km from Dibrugarh, in Arunachal Pradesh, this park, sprawling over 1850 sq km, is home to wet tropical rain forests, tigers, leopards, clouded leopards and snow leopards.
Nameri National Park – Situated at about 35km from Tezpur in Assam and spread over 200 sq km, the park is home to some of the endangered species of fauna like Sloth Bear, tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, sambar, gaur, Indian wild dog and four varieties of hornbill.
Keibul Lam Jeo National Park – Situated in the districts of Imphal and Bishnupur in Manipur, the park was declared a sanctuary in 1954 and is abode to the antlered deer, a special member of the wildlife in India.
Manas National Park – The sole Tiger Project in Assam, this park covers an area of 519.77 sq kms. Set on the bank of the river Manas at the foothills of the Himalayas, it preserves a whole lot of fauna apart from the tigers.
Nokrek National Park – Set at a distance of merely 2 kms from Tura Peak in the Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, this park preserves a huge range of plant life and animals, including the serow, the fishing cat, and the tiger.
Betla National Park - Spread over an area of 979sq.km, this park, also known as the Palamau Sanctuary, is situated in the district of Daltonganj. It preserves animals like forest owls, drongos, tigers, civets and the rhesus monkey.
Orang National Park - Also called the miniature Kaziranga, the park is sited near Silbori, along the northern banks of river Brahmaputra. Sprawled over an area of 78 sq km, it is home to many one horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, and the barking Deer.
Balpakram National Park - A National Park since 1987, this wildlife reserve preserves some of the rarest and most exotic Indian wildlife species.
